Tivazo vs TimeCamp: In-depth Feature Comparison
Time Tracking Methods
Automatic vs Manual Time Tracking
Tivazo
- Tivazo automatically tracks work hours from when users click the “Start Tracking” button on the software until the “Stop Tracking” button is clicked. The time tracked is automatically considered as the employees’ work hours.
- It runs in the background and tracks the users’ work progress without interrupting.
- You can also manually enter your work hours. Sometimes, something comes up or you forget to click on the “Start Tracking” button, we’ve all been there. In such cases, you can manually enter the start and end times of your work.
- Or, your employer can add the manual time entries for you.
- You can also use the manual time entry feature when you are in meetings, out in fieldwork, or have not been working on your computer.
TimeCamp
- TimeCamp also tracks time when the user clicks on the start/ stop button. The time tracking in the time tracking software is based on tasks/ projects.
- TimeCamp also has advanced time tracking for tasks. How it works is: that a task has descriptions on what the user is supposed to do. And when the time tracker is running, it detects words, phrases, and URLs that are associated with the task. So, it naturally records the time when users have a window open with those keywords as the time spent on working on that task.
- Similarly, it also switches to time tracking for another task when the application detects keywords for another task.
- This helps users keep track of different tasks without having to worry about start and stop buttons for each task. So, you can focus on your task.
- However, if there are multiple tasks with similar keywords, it may switch between different tasks even though you may be working on the same task.
Idle Detection and Auto Pause
Tivazo
- Idle time is when users are not working on their computers. Tivazo can automatically detect users’ idle time.
- Tivazo pauses it’s time tracking for inactive users. Admins can decide how long the users/ employees can be inactive for before the time tracker pauses. The default time for this is 5 minutes in the software, however you can change it at any time.
TimeCamp
- The idle time detection in TimeCamp works similarly to Tivazo, if the users have been inactive for a while the application detects the time as idle time.
- Employees also have a private time feature they can use. They can use this feature to prevent the software from tracking any computer activity during private time. However, this time is also recorded as idle time in the app.
Clock-in and Clock-out Feature
Tivazo
- You may be using a different system for employees’ attendance, but with Tivazo, you can easily record attendance with the clock in/ out feature. But with Tivazo which has also blended an attendance system, you don’t have to use another system for it.
- You are automatically clocked in for the day when you ‘Start Tracking’, then clocked out when you ‘Stop Tracking’.
- Sometimes, we forget to stop tracking our time. In such cases, Tivazo automatically stops the time tracking after you have been inactive for a while. Unless you resume tracking the same day, Tivazo automatically clocks you out.
TimeCamp
- TimeCamp does not have a dedicated clock-in and out feature.
- Your clock in/ out times is tracked through project and task activities, relying on time tracking to monitor attendance.
- Or, it clocks users in and starts tracking time until you reach the designated time per day or when you turn off your computer. It does not account for overtime or if the computer you are using is both your personal and work computer.
